Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Bullionis collects, why, and the choices you have. It's written to be read, not just filed away — if anything here is unclear, please get in touch.

Who we are

Bullionis is a browser-based economic simulation game. This policy covers the Bullionis website and game (bullionis.com).

Information we collect

• Account information — username, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text). If you sign in with Google, Discord, or GitHub, we receive the basic profile information those providers share (typically your name, email, and avatar).
• Gameplay data — everything you do inside the simulation: companies you found, trades, guild membership, achievements, and similar in-game activity. This is the core of the game and is shown to other players where the game is inherently public (e.g. leaderboards, public company pages).
• Technical data — we log page visits using a one-way hash of your IP address and browser combined with a salt that changes every day, specifically so it cannot be used to track you across days or identify you personally. See our Cookie Policy for cookies specifically.

How we use it

• To operate your account and the game simulation itself.
• To send account-related email (verification, password resets) and, if you've opted in, our newsletter — every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link.
• To keep the platform secure (e.g. detecting abuse, rate-limiting).
• To understand overall usage at an aggregate level so we can improve the game.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies, described in full on our Cookie Policy page, along with the consent controls available to you.

Data sharing

We share data with the minimum set of service providers needed to run the site — for example our email delivery provider (to send verification/notification emails) and, if enabled, our payment processor (for premium features). We don't share data with anyone else except where required by law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can update most account details yourself from Account Settings, and you can delete your account from the same page. For anything else, contact us using the details below.

Data retention

We keep account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove personal identifiers within a reasonable period, though some aggregated or anonymized gameplay data (e.g. historical market data that no longer identifies you) may be retained for the integrity of the simulation.

Children

Bullionis is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
